Founded in 2009 as an organized voice for addressing the inequities in healthcare and other systems impacting the Latinx community, ULV works with our allies to create better policy and solutions to help mitigate generational harms faced by undocumented immigrants and their children who continue to live in poverty in Contra Costa County.
ULV’s work focuses on three inter-related strategies:
Growing Latinx civic engagement and leadership
Advancing Latinx student success
Advocating for and supporting health equity for Latinx and other immigrants
At the heart of this work is an ongoing commitment to the development of emerging leaders from the communities we serve. ULV works in coalition with partners to build Latinx power, increase access to resources, strengthen resilience and economic opportunity, and improve the quality of life for our immigrant community.
The mission of United Latino Voices is to improve health, education, and economic outcomes for our Contra Costa County Latinx community through elevating our community’s voices, strategic advocacy, and developing the next generation of community leaders.
We envision a Contra Costa County where our Latinx community thrives and is actively engaged, heard and respected. We focus our efforts to ensure equitable health access, economic mobility, and educational opportunities for our Latinx community and, consequently, ALL residents.
